Jokinen Selected to American Preseason All-Conference Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – As the American Athletic Conference men's soccer preseason polls rolled out, senior forward Joonas Jokinen was named to the All-Conference team. Jokinen finished the 2016 season with three goals, six assists, and 12 total points in 12 starts.
As a team, Temple men's soccer ranked sixth in the preseason Coaches' Poll garnering 20 points. UConn, who is ranked 24 in the United Soccer Coaches national preseason rankings, sits at No. 1 after receiving four first-place votes and 45 total points. Tulsa placed second with 43 points and USF followed in third. UCF and SMU ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. Cincinnati and Memphis trailed Temple to round out the poll.
The Owls will host Monmouth for its second exhibition game of the year on Saturday, Aug. 19 at 7:00 p.m. Temple officially opens the 2017 season on Friday, Aug. 25 at St. Joseph's.
