Temple Athletics Adds Facebook Live and Podcasts to Digital Media Platforms

PHILADELPHIA – Already heralded for its innovative digital presence, Temple Athletics announced today the launching of two new ventures to engage its fan base. OwlLive with Morgyn and Kevin, presented by Philadelphia Federal Credit Union, will be a weekly program shown exclusively via Facebook Live, while Owl In with Kevin Copp is a bi-weekly podcast that will be available for download via iTunes starting this week.
"We are constantly looking to utilize emerging technology to share the Temple Story with our fan base," said Temple Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "These two ventures will accomplish that, and provide our fans a unique behind-the-scenes look at the tremendous things happening here with Temple athletics."
Hosted by Assistant Athletics Directors Morgyn Seigfried and Kevin Copp, OwlLive with Morgyn and Kevin, presented by Philadelphia Federal Credit Union, makes its debut on August 28. The show will recap the previous week in Temple Athletics while looking ahead to upcoming contests. Besides OwlLive with Morgyn and Kevin, Facebook Live will also be utilized to live stream football and basketball postgame media conferences.
Owl In with Kevin Copp will be available for download on a bi-weekly basis with a new installment running every other Tuesday. The first episode will feature Copp, the show's host, talking with Kraft on the state of Temple Athletics. Future episodes will highlight coaches and other Owl administrators to give Temple fans a unique perspective from all programs and areas of the department.
These two new ventures enhance the already in-depth digital media coverage of Temple Athletics provided via OwlsTV and the department's various digital and social media platforms. In 2016-17 OwlsTV produced 1,071 pieces of video, including 81 live broadcasts, totaling over five million views while Temple Athletics social media earned a #SkullSparksTop25 ranking for #SMSports visual communication in 2017.
