Men's Soccer Racks Up Philadelphia Soccer Six Awards

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soccer Six hosted its annual banquet Wednesday night to celebrate the 2017 season. Top players and coaches were honored with Temple men's soccer snagging two All-Star team spots, two All-Rookie team spots, and one individual award. Former head coach David MacWilliams earned the Bill Harris Coach of the Year nod.

The 2017 All-Star team featured seniors Mark Grasela and Divin Fula Luzolo. Grasela played a key role in the Owls' defense this season and contributed three goals and two assists, scoring twice against Soccer Six opponents Villanova and Drexel. Fula Luzolo collected seven points on the season with two goals and three assists.

Freshman Alan Camacho Soto grabbed the William "Bill" Wilkinson Freshman of the Year award. The forward opened his first campaign at Temple with five goals, tallying 11 points on the season and earned All-Rookie honors from the American Athletic Conference.

Camacho Soto and Darri Sigthorsson were both named to the 12-man All-Rookie team.

Villanova and La Salle were crowned Philadelphia Soccer Six Co-Champions.
