Men’s Tennis Notches Another Strong Outing in Second Day of Temple Invite

PHILADELPHIA— Temple men's tennis had another strong showing in day two of the Temple Invite. The squad hosted Mount St. Mary's at the TU Pavilion on a crisp, gusty afternoon. The second day featured a round of doubles followed by a round of singles.
Notes
> The Owls had another successful day as a team. They triumphed over the Mountaineers in all but one match on the day.
> Alberto Caceres Casas, Paolo Cucalon and Mark Wallner are undefeated in the Temple Invite thus far. They have defeated Morgan State and Mount St. Mary's opponents in both singles and doubles to remain perfect in tournament play. Casas and Wallner will compete to win the cherry flight in doubles and the cherry and black flights in singles, respectively, on Sunday afternoon. Cucalon will vie for the white flight title in singles and will pair up with Uladzimir Dorash to fight for the white flight doubles title.
> Dorash came away with a victory in singles against Jean Armstrong. He bested the Mountaineer 6-0, 6-4. Michael Haelen fought hard against Mount St. Mary's Chris Lindsey. Haelen defeated Lindsey in the first set, but eventually fell to the Mountaineer 3-6, 6-1, 10-7.
> Eric Biscoveanu and Francisco Bohorquez also had an impressive outing. As a tandem, they defeated Evan Hine and Armstrong, 6-4. Individually, they downed their Mount St. Mary's opponents as well. Biscoveanu overcame Gabe Santos 6-4, 6-3, while Bohorquez downed Hine 6-0, 6-3. Biscoveanu will compete for the green flight singles title on Sunday.
