Sarver Earns AAC Weekly Honor Roll Honors
10.14.18 | Men's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA -- Junior defender Nick Sarver has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for his tremendous efforts in Temple's 3-2 overtime loss at USF this past Friday. Sarver is the sixth member of the squad to earn AAC nods this season, and the accolade marks the first of his career from the conference.Â
Sarver had a career-high three point game from his right back position on Friday night, netting Temple's equalizer early in the match and assisting their other goal. When USF went up first in the 41st minute, Sarver responded in the 69th minute by burying an equalizing header off of a corner kick from Leandros Lillis. Only six minutes later, Sarver found himself high up the field again when he received the ball and distributed it to sophomore Justin Hahn. Hahn took one touch from the left side of the field and sent a beautiful shot into the upper right 90 from over 20 yards out, putting the Owls ahead for the first time in the game. Aside from leading the offense in points for the day, Sarver also played a critical role in the Temple back four that thwarted many of USF's 25 shots.
The Owls are back in action tonight when they head to Pitt for a non-conference Monday night match-up. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m., and the game will be streamed live on the ACC Network.Â
