Women’s Soccer Hosts UConn for Final Home Game of the Season

PHILADELPHIA— Temple women's soccer (7-9-1, 3-4-1 AAC) will host UConn (3-13, 1-6 AAC) for their final home match of the season on Thursday. The Owls will take on the Huskies at 3:30 p.m. at the Temple Sports Complex.
Promotions
> Junior Owls Club Night: All Junior Owl Club members are invited to cheer on the women's soccer team. Kids Club members can present their ID at the marketing table to receive a free gift.
> Cherry Crusade Night: All Cherry Crusade members are invited to support the Owls. Cherry Crusade members have the opportunity to be on-field for a halftime presentation.
> Temple Tank Top Giveaway: The first 50 students will receive a Temple tank top.
> Breast Cancer Awareness Day: On July 5th of this year, Temple Athletics lost a beloved member of the department, senior administrative assistant Pat Albright. Pat passed away after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. Any donations collected at the game will be donated to the American Cancer Society in Pat's memory.
The Owls
> Emma Wilkins and Gabriela Johnson lead the Owls' offense in production. Wilkins has netted a team-leading six goals for 12 points on the season. Johnson has been key on the attacking end as well, tallying five goals and one assist for 11 points.
> Johnson and Morgan Morocco lead Temple in assists, as both have contributed to two goals on the season. FIve Owls are tied in this category, with Marissa DiGenova, Natalie Druehl, Hailey Gutowski, Emily Keitel and Kerri McGinley notching one assist apiece.
> The defensive end has been a strong point for Temple all season. The backline, coupled with the midfielders, have been disciplined and consistent, in addition to being key contributors to Temple's six shutouts.
> Junior goalkeeper Morgan Basileo has logged 1334 minutes between the posts for the Owls. Basileo has compiled a goals against average of 1.15 and a 0.838 save percentage through 16 matches. She has also earned a win in all six of Temple's shutouts this year.
> Last time out, Temple battled the No. 22 Memphis Tigers in a cold and windy match at the Temple Sports Complex. The Owls ultimately fell 1-0 to the Tigers, as a Memphis goal in the second minute decided the contest. Temple held a Memphis offense that averaged 2.44 goals per game to just one. The Tigers had only been held to a goal or less four times this season. This was a testament to the Owls' commitment to staying organized and tough on defense.

> UConn is led by first year head coach Margaret Rodriguez.
> The Huskies are 3-13 overall and 1-6 in the AAC. They played their most recent match on Oct. 21 against Tulsa, and fell to the Golden Hurricane 3-0.
> The UConn offense is led by midfielder Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky. The sophomore has tallied eight goals and one assist on the season. Elena Santos and Erin Spillane are also threats for the Huskies, with four goals and two assists and three goals and one assist, respectively.
> Four players on the UConn squad have contributed to more than one goal this season. Forward Pato Jerzak leads the Huskies with three assists.
> Goalkeeper Randi Palacios has notched 1288 minutes on the season for UConn. The redshirt sophomore has a goals against average of 2.45 and a save percentage of 0.657, with 67 saves through 15 games played.
> The Huskies have been outscored by their opponents 42-20.
