Men’s Tennis Has Strong Showing at Day One of Princeton’s Farnsworth Invite

Princeton, N.J.— Temple men's tennis completed the first day of competition at the Farnsworth Invite, hosted by Princeton University. Day one consisted of one round of singles and two rounds of doubles.
Notes
> Players are paired to create a "mini Davis Cup format." Each pair forms a team that will play doubles first, followed by two singles matches. The winner of two of the three matches for each pairing will advance. Losing pairs will continue play in a compass draw that will guarantee four singles and four doubles matches.
> Temple is represented by Alberto Caceres Casas, Paolo Cucalon, Uladzimir Dorash and Mark Wallner at the Farnsworth Invite.
> The pairing of Caceres Casas and Wallner had a great showing in the Orange Draw. The duo dropped their first doubles match to Myles Conlin and Nikita Larichev from Army West Point 8-5. When they split to take on Conlin and Larichev in singles, both Caceres Casas and Wallner emerged victorious. Since they won two of the three matches the Owls advanced to take on NJIT's Abdallah Fouad and Zac Castagna in doubles later in the afternoon. Caceres Casas and Wallner came out ahead again, defeating the Highlanders 8-6.
> The Owls' duo of Cucalon and Dorash went undefeated on the day in the Black Draw. They took on Marist's Max Darrington and Jack Sequerth in doubles and defeated them 8-4. In singles, Cucalon and Dorash triumphed over Darrington and Sequerth, respectively, leading them to advance and take on Middlebury. Again, the Owls found success in a hard-fought contest against the Red Foxes' pairing of Adam Guo and David Vilys, winning 8-7(3).
