Men's Tennis Continues Strong Play in Day Two of Princeton's Farnsworth Invite

Princeton, N.J.— Temple men's tennis completed the second day of competition at the Farnsworth Invite, hosted by Princeton University. Day two featured two rounds of singles and one round of doubles.
Notes
> Players are paired to create a "mini Davis Cup format." Each pair forms a team that will play doubles first, followed by two singles matches. The winner of two of the three matches for each pairing will advance. Losing pairs will continue play in a compass draw that will guarantee four singles and four doubles matches.
> Temple is represented by Alberto Caceres Casas, Paolo Cucalon, Uladzimir Dorash and Mark Wallner at the Farnsworth Invite.
> The pairing of Caceres Casas and Wallner had another solid performance in the Orange Draw. The pair went undefeated against NJIT, as they won their doubles (played on Friday) and two singles matches against NJIT opponents Abdallah Fouad and Zac Castagna. Caceres Casas downed Fouad 6-3, 6-1, while Wallner overcame Castagna 7-5, 4-6, (10-2). The Owls advanced to face Gardner-Webb, but the duo was swept by Runnin' Bulldogs. In singles, Wallner fell 5-7, 6-2, (10-7) to Millen Hurrion and Caceres Casas dropped a three-set contest to Maximillian Scholl 6-1, 3-6, (10-5). In doubles, Caceres Casas and Wallner fell to the Gardner-Webb pair 8-4.
> Cucalon and Dorash triumphed over Middlebury in the Black Draw, defeating them in doubles (played on Friday) and winning both of their singles matches against the Panthers. Cucalon defeated Adam Guo 6-2, 6-2, while Dorash won over David Vilys in a hard-fought contest, 7-6(5), 7-6(6). Cucalon and Dorash advanced to take on William & Mary. The pair ultimately fell to the Tribe tandem. The Owls dropped a tight doubles match, 7-6(5) and once again split closely-contested singles matchups. Dorash defeated Sebastian Quiros 4-6,6-3, (10-7), while Cucalon fell to Daniel Pellerito 6-3, 6-7(1), (10-7).
