PHILADELPHIA – In his first move as head football coach at Temple University, Manny Diaz retained head strength and conditioning coach David Feeley giving him the new title of Assistant Athletics Director, Football Sports Performance.

"Temple has an outstanding football culture and a lot of that begins in the weight room," said Diaz who was named head coach on Dec. 14. "Dave is an outstanding coach who is very well received and appreciated by the team. It's often difficult to be very tough, and likeable, but Dave has the ability to pull that off. Everyone knows that Dave has the players' best interest in mind at all times."

Feeley, who will enter his 14th season working in collegiate football, came to Temple in 2017 as one of Geoff Collins' first hires. The two first linked up when they were both on FIU coaching staff in 2010. During that season, Feeley was the assistant strength and conditioning coach (2008-10). The two helped guide the Panthers to a 7-6 record during the 2010 season, and a win in the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl, which was the first bowl win in program history. Feeley also assisted with women's tennis, softball and baseball during his three years at FIU.

Feeley came to Temple from the University of South Carolina where he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for one season. He helped guide the 2016 Gamecocks to a 6-6 record and reach the Birmingham Bowl, while mentoring senior DL Darius English to reach SEC second-team all-conference honors.

Before that he worked as the director of football strength and conditioning at Ball State from 2011-15. During that time, he helped the Cardinals earn two bowl appearances - the 2012 Beef O' Brady Bowl and the 2013 GoDaddy.com Bowl. He also assisted with the women's basketball team that made three-straight NIT appearances.

Feeley began his professional career as an intern at Rutgers and South Florida before becoming the strength and conditioning graduate assistant for football, women's track, softball and baseball at UNLV from 2006-07.

A South Jersey native, Feeley grew up in Brick, N.J. He is a 2004 graduate of Plymouth State University, where he was a member of the football team for four years, including serving as the team captain during his senior season.

Feeley is married to the former Ann Marie DeGiglio, and they have a daughter, Laura Marie, and son, John Francis.
