Women's Basketball Continues Big 5 Play at Villanova on Sunday

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team continues Philadelphia Big 5 play on Sunday at Villanova. The 1-0 Owls will face the 2-0 Wildcats at Finneran Pavilion at 1:00 p.m.
THE OWLS
> Temple is 3-5 overall, breaking a string of five-straight losses with a 59-39 win over Iona on Thursday at McGonigle Hall.
> Sophomore Mia Davis leads Temple on both ends of the floor, averaging 20.8 points and 9.9 rebounds per game, also shooting a team-high 63.2% (12-19 from three point range).
> Graduate student Alliya Butts is second on the team in scoring, with 15.4 points per game, while leading the Owls with averages of 4.0 assists and 2.9 steals per outing.
> Sophomores Desiree Oliver (6.3 ppg) and Emani Mayo (5.5 ppg) also pace the Temple offense.
> Freshman Marissa Mackins (5.1 ppg) and junior Shannen Atkinson (3.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg) round out the season box score.
> As a team, the Owls are shooting 38.7% from the field and 29.2% from long range.

> Temple got back into the win column with a 59-39 victory over visiting Iona on Thursday night at McGonigle Hall.
> The Owls worked around a messy game with a huge 43-27 advantage on the glass, including a 17-2 edge in second chance points.
