Women's Basketball Heads to ECU on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's basketball team will play its last regular season road game on Saturday, traveling to East Carolina. The Owls and Pirates will tip-off at 1:00 p.m. at Minges Coliseum. 

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Temple is 10-17 overall, with a 2-12 record in American Athletic Conference play.
> Temple is led by senior Tanaya Atkinson, who averages team-best totals of 21.0 points and 9.1 rebounds per game with 72 total assists.
> Freshman Mia Davis is second on the team with 11.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per outing. 
> Rookie Emani Mayo averages 9.2 points per game to rank third, and has scored in double-digits in six out of the last seven games.
> Freshman Desiree Oliver adds 7.0 points per game, while classmate Breanna Perry is third on the Owls with 3.1 rebounds per game.
> As a team, Temple shoots 37.9% from the field, 29.7% from long range, and 67.6% from the free throw line.

LAST TIME OUT
> Temple fell to conference rival Cincinnati, 70-52, on Wednesday.
> The visitors held Temple to just 10 points on 31.3% shooting in the first period, and Temple was unable to make up the deficit despite a series of runs in the second and third quarters. 
> Tanaya Atkinson posted her 14th double-double of the season, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
> Three other players finished in double-figures in scoring -- all freshmen. 
> Emani Mayo led the group with 13 points, Desiree Oliver had 12, and Mia Davis netted 10.

> East Carolina enters the game with a 15-12 overall record, including 7-7 in conference play.
> The Pirates have won six out of their last nine games.
> ECU has a balanced offense with nine different players averaging 5.2 points per game.
> The Pirates are led by Ariyana Williams who tallies 9.1 points per game with a team-best 43  total threes.
> Thias Oliverira adds 8.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per outing.
> Alex Frazier contributes 7.3 points and a team-best 3.8 assists per game.
> Lashonda Monk (6.8 ppg), Destiny Campbell (6.7 ppg), Salita Greene (6.3 ppg, 5.9 rpg) also contribute.
> As a team, ECU shots 37.8% from the field, 25.2% from three, and 59.3% from the line.
> The Pirates have a +3.5 turnover margin, forcing an average of 22 opponent turnovers per game.

> East Carolina won a tight 59-57 game on the road at Tulsa on Tuesday.
> Destiny Campbell converted a turnaround jumper with 14.2 seconds remaining to give the Pirates their go-ahead bucker.
> On the ensuing possession, Thais Oliviera blocked Tulsa's game-tying shot attempt to secure the win.
> Alex Frazier led the Pirates in scoring and tied her career-high of 16 points.
