Tori Edwards Named ECAC Gymnast of the Week

Danbury, Conn. – Freshman Tori Edwards of Temple gymnastics has earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) weekly honors for the second week in a row. The ECAC has named Edwards this week's Gymnast of the Week for her stellar performance at Kent State's tri-meet last weekend.
Edwards' Gymnast of the Week honors comes after the freshman's best all-around performance of 2018. At Kent State on Friday, Mar. 16, she tallied a 39.175 all-around score to place second among the field. Edwards combined scores of 9.775 on vault, 9.725 on bars, 9.8 on beam, and 9.875 on floor to reach her career-best. Her 9.875 was the second best floor-exercise score of the night, leading the Owls to a total 49.05 on the event. Edwards sits at No.1 the ECAC on floor with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 9.855 and an average of 9.819.
Temple gymnastics now prepares for the 2018 ECAC Championships set for Saturday, Mar. 24 hosted at Penn at 12 p.m.
