AIKEN, S.C. – Freshman Dawson Anders shot an even-par to lead Temple Golf at the 49th Annual Furman Intercollegiate Friday. The Owls are tied for 18^th in the 21-team tournament being held at the par-72, 6,994-yard Furman University Golf Club.

Tournament Notes
> Anders, who is tied for 21st, led the 120 golfers with two eagles on the day. He played the par 5s at five-under which also was the best mark of the day.
> Liam McGrath, Trey Wren and John Barone tied for 95^th overall with seven-over 79s. Erik Reisner was one stroke back (80) to round out the Temple quintet.
> North Florida leads the field with a 10-under 278. USC-Aiken is five strokes back (283) with Temple posting a 309 team total for the first round.
> Phillip Knowles of North Florida leads the field with a six-under 66.
> This year's field also includes Akron, Charleston Southern, Dartmouth, Francis Marion, Furman, Gardner-Webb, Harvard, High Point, James Madison, Marshall, Presbyterian, Samford, USC Upstate, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Wichita State, Winthrop, and Yale.
