Golf Finishes 14th at Cleveland Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. – Temple Golf moved up one spot on the final day of the 21st Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate to finish 14th overall among the 18-team field. It was a three spot improvement over last year's finish at the event held at the par-70, 6,617-yard Palmetto Golf Club.
Tournament Notes
> Liam McGrath led the Owls on the final round, carding a career best finish 73 for the second straight round. It marked the third player to lead the Owls in a round at the tournament with John Barone (70) and Dawson Anders (65) topping the Cherry and White in the first and second rounds, respectively.
>Anders, who struggled with a 79 on Tuesday, was TU's top finisher overall, tying for 25th in the 90-player field with an eight over 218.
> McGrath was second for the Owls and tied for 52nd overall with a 13-over 223. Trey Wren (224/t59th) and Barone (225/t61st) were the other two scorers for Temple.
> Virginia led the field with an even-par 840. Georgia Southern was second at +9 with host USC-Aiken placing third (+15).
> There was a tie for the individual title with Daniel Overas from Coastal Carolina besting Jake Storey (Georgia Southern) in a playoff. The players had completed the 54 holes at three-under.
> Temple next competes at the Furman Intercollegiate from March 23-25.
