PHILADELPHIA - Lee Roberts, who has worked on the Temple Athletics Staff for four decades, has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities and Event Management, announced Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft.
"No one knows Temple Athletics better than Lee Roberts and he is among the best in the nation in facilities management," said Kraft. "Lee is a tireless worker who has been instrumental in the athletics facilities upgrades over the past six years. It gives me great pleasure to reward his hard work with a much deserved promotion."
It is Roberts' second promotion in the past three years as he was elevated to Associate Athletics Director in September 2015.
"I want to thank Dr. Kraft for his support of my area and providing our department the resources to better serve the student-athletes and their respective programs at Temple," said Roberts. "I also want to thank my staff, who work day and night to provide great facilities and first class game operations for all 19 Temple sports."
Roberts, who first joined the Temple Athletics staff in 1984, oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the University's athletic facilities as well as serving as the department's liaison with The Liacouras Center and Lincoln Financial Field. The veteran administrator also manages the game operations of all athletic events.
Roberts  has helped to facilitate numerous conference and national competitions that Temple has hosted during his tenure, including the 2004 NCAA Women's Basketball first and second rounds, the 2005 NCAA Women's Basketball Philadelphia Regional, the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Philadelphia Regional, and the 2013 NCAA Men's Basketball Second and Third Rounds at the Wells Fargo Center.
A 1982 graduate of Temple, Roberts' first role at Temple was director of football operations, a position he held for 12 years before heading athletics facilities.
