Gymnastics’ Anderson and Castrence Earn ECAC Weekly Accolades

PHILADELPHIA—Senior captain India Anderson and freshman Ariana Castrence earned ECAC weekly honors for their outstanding efforts this past weekend at the Little Boston Invitational.
Anderson garnered the ECAC Specialist of the Week award for her electric floor routine in Boston. She scored her a 9.85 for the Owls, which ties her career-best mark. Anderson's score was the team-high and tied her for second in the event.
Castrence was named ECAC Gymnast of the Week for her stellar performance at the Little Boston Invitational. In her second meet in Cherry & White, the freshman competed in the all-around, posting scores of 9.825 on vault, 9.75 on bars, 9.75 on beam and 9.825 on floor. Castrence's vault and all-around performances garnered her the first place title in both events. Her all-around score of 39.15 was just 0.05 points away from the program's all-time all-around record of 39.2.
Next up, Temple will continue its road stretch on Friday, Jan. 18 at New Hampshire. The Owls will take on the Wildcats at 7 p.m.
