Golf Heads to North Carolina for Phoenix Invitational

BURLINGTON, N.C. – After a two-week break Temple Golf is back on the course Monday taking part in the 16-team Phoenix Invitational being hosted by Elon University. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held at the par-71, 6,867-yard Alamance Country Club.

Previewing the Owls

> Head coach Brian Quinn will start his normal five for the tournament, junior Dawson Anders, sophomore Conor McGrath, senior Liam McGrath and freshmen Graham Chase and Danny Nguyen. Senior Aaron Tobin and junior Matthew Kristick will play as individuals.
> Conor McGrath leads the team with a 73.6 stroke per round average. Anders is right behind him with a 73.9 average. Chase is third on the Owls with a 74.6 average while Liam McGrath (75.6) and Nguyen (77.0) round out the squad.

The Field

> Besides the Owls, the field consists of host Elon, Appalachian State, Drexel, Gardner-Webb, George Mason, George Washington, La Salle, Longwood, Morehead State, Navy, Ohio, Presbyterian, Radford, Towson and Wofford.
> Elon won the 2018 Phoenix Invitational with Temple six shots behind and in third place.
