Field Hockey to Host UConn

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple field hockey team will have a light week on the books, with UConn being its lone match of the weekend. Following tonight's contest, the Owls will hit the road for a four-game road-stretch before return to Howarth Field to close out October play. Tonight's game is the first American Conference Pow6rful Minds game of the 2019-20 season, with the conference seeking to promote awareness of mental health issues and resources available to student-athletes with the goal of ending the stigma related to seeking help and promoting success through a healthy, powerful mind.
Scouting Temple
> Temple is on a two match losing streak, falling to Providence at Penn last weekend. The Owls were tied 1-1 with the Quakers heading into the fourth quarter, but mid-way through the fourth Penn scored the game-winner.
> The team is 0-2 in Big East play, having yet to score a goal this season against conference opponents. The last time Temple won a conference contest was in October 2016, with a 3-2 victory over Quinnipiac.
> Junior Dani Batze leads the team in goals with three, while Claire Thomas and Kerrie Lorenz ranking second with two goals apiece. Both Batze and Thomas have scored two game-winners for the Owls.
