Women’s Cross Country Ready for Test at AAC Championships

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple University women's cross country team will compete in the American Athletic Conference Championships Friday, Nov. 1st. The 6K race is slated for an 11:50 a.m. ET start at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tenn.
About the American Athletic Conference Championships
> Shelby Farms Park is comprised of 4,500 acres that contains more than 40 miles of trails.
> The Cherry and White will compete against their conference counterparts as they look to secure the program's first-ever American championship.
> Amongst the competitors are the Golden Hurricanes of Tulsa, who are currently sitting on the cusp of the top-30 Division I teams in the country.
> Wichita State won the 2018 conference championship with 65 points, while Tulsa grabbed second with 67 points to edge the Owls by two.

> "We're not as deep as we have been in years past, but I think we are more talented up front than we have ever been before," stated head coach James Snyder. "The ladies have put themselves in a really good position to be in the mix for a title."

> Grace Moore finished just shy of the top-10 with her time of 21.02.2 at the Penn State National Open as the Owls finished in third place.
> Millie Howard was the second in the Cherry and White to cross the finish line and the 22nd runner overall with her time of 21:19.6.
> Michelle Joyce finished third for the Owls and 32nd overall, clocking in at 21:32.7. Erinn Stenman-Fahey followed for a 57th overall finish at 22:03.4.
> Rookie Cat Shontz rounded out the top-five as she finished 72nd overall with a time of 22:19.2.
