Howard, Moore Earn All-Region as Women’s Cross Country Finishes 7th at NCAA Regional

BETHLEHEM, Pa. —The Temple women's cross country earned a seventh-place finish in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals Friday morning in Bethlehem, Pa. Millie Howard and Grace Moore both finished in the top 25 to earn All-Region recognition.
About the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional
> Temple was ranked seventh in the region heading into the meet and finished the day in the same spot.
> The Owls were one of 31 teams racing on the campus of Lehigh University.
> Penn State walked away with first place followed by Villanova in second and Georgetown in third.
> Villanova's Lydia Olivere was the NCAA Mid-Atlantic individual champion, finishing first with a time of 20:02.0.
Race Notes
> After finishing just shy of All-Conference status at the AAC Championships on Nov. 1, Howard powered through the 6K with a time of 20:46.0 to finish first for the Owls and 22nd overall.
> Moore followed close behind her classmate, finishing 24th overall and clocking in at 20:46.7. Baylee Jones of Georgetown was able to split the Temple seniors for the 23rd spot.
> Junior Michelle Joyce finished third for the Cherry and White and 38th overall as she crossed the finish line at 21:04.1.
> Helene Gottlieb and Erinn Stenman-Fahey rounded out the top five for the Owls, coming in at the 80th and 82nd slots.

> "We talked about trying to improve from our spot in the regional rankings coming in and we ended up right in the same spot, so props to the regional ranking folks for keeping it pretty accurate," reflected head coach James Snyder.
> "Grace and Millie ran really solid days. This was the first time we saw Millie really come into her own in cross country and to see that in one of the last meets was really exciting and I think this is a great springboard to head into the track season."
