11.30.19 | Men's Basketball

ORLANDO - Temple will be looking to pick up two wins at the Orlando Invitational Sunday when it takes on Davidson (4 pm/ESPN2/1210 AM WPHT). The Owls (5-1) are coming off a 65-42 win over Texas A&M Friday while the Wildcats (3-4) dispatched Fairfield, 67-56.

Previewing the Owls
> The Owls defense was stifling, holding the Aggies to 22.4 percent shooting from the field (13-58) and 18.2 percent from long range (6-33).  The 42 points were the fewest by a Temple opponent since a 40-37 Owls win over American on Nov. 14, 2014.
> Quinton Rose (14.7 ppg) rebounded from a tough shooting game (4-16 vs #5 Maryland) to lead all scorers with 19 points while also dishing a team-high four assists.
> Rose, who also had six rebounds, was joined in double figures by senior Alani Moore II (14) and redshirt junior Monty Scott, who had a season high 11 points.  Moore, who had 22 points against Maryland, made four threes on nine attempts while also making two steals.
> Moore (12.5 ppg) and Nate Pierre-Louis (12.3 ppg) join Rose with double figure scoring averages while Pierre-Louis also tops the squad in rebounding (9.2 rpg), assists (3.3 apg) and steals (2.8 spg).
> Temple averages 9.8 steals per game and has a +4.3 turnover margin.

Scouting the Wildcats
> Davidson is 3-4 overall following a 67-56 win over Fairfield on Friday evening.
> Kellan Grady leads Davidson in scoring at 18.1 points per outing. The preseason all-Atlantic 10 Conference selection is averaging 20.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals, while shooting 55.7 percent from the floor over the last five games.
> The Wildcats were picked to finish second in the A10 by the league's preseason poll.

Series History vs. Davidson
> Temple and Davidson have split the two previous meetings, both being neutral site games.
> The Owls defeated the Wildcats 77-75 in overtime last year (12/15/18) Air Force Reserve Boardwalk Classic presented by Citi. The game was played in Atlantic City, N.J.
> The 19th-ranked Wildcats won the other contest, 63-60, at the Charlotte Coliseum as part of the Charlotte Invitational on December 19, 1967.
