Men's Basketball Hosts Morgan State Saturday

PHILADELPHIA – Fresh off a season-opening win over Drexel to start off the Aaron McKie era, Temple men's basketball is back at the Liacouras Center Saturday with a 2 pm tip off against Morgan State. The game will be televised by ESPN3 and broadcast by 1210 AM WPHT.

> Temple opened the 2019-20 season with a 70-62 win over Drexel to give McKie, one of the best players in program history, his first win as a collegiate head coach.
> Junior Nate Pierre-Louis filled out the stat sheet, leading the team in scoring (16 pts), rebounds (10) and steals (5). It was his fourth career double-double. He also added four assists.
> Senior Alani Moore II, making his first start since his freshman year, tallied nine points, grabbed five rebounds, dished a team-high five assists and made two steals. He also played a team-high 36 minutes.
> Senior Quinton Rose and junior J.P. Moorman II added 14 and nine points , respectively.
> McKie used all 11 available scholarship players in the contest with all but Josh Pierre-Louis and Arashma Parks tallying points.
> The Pierre-Louis brothers made history as the first siblings to play in a Temple game together.
Scouting Morgan State
>Under the direction of first-year head coach Kevin Broadus, Morgan State returns three starters from last year's team and are led by senior guard Stanley Davis and sophomore guard Sherwyn Devonish. The Bears backcourt tandem were named MEAC preseason second team (Davis) and third team (Devonish).
> The Bears also return 75.6 percent of its scoring, 67.8 percent of its rebounding and 69.0 percent of its minutes played totals from last year's team that finished the year 6-7 in the conference and 9-21 overall.
> MSU also won its opener, defeating Central Penn, 71-44, on Wednesday in Baltimore. Davis tallied 14 points to lead a balanced attack that featured four double figure scorers.
