Golf Looks to Defend City 6 Title Saturday

HUNTINGDON Valley, Pa. – Temple Golf will look to defend its City 6 title Saturday as the Owls close out the fall portion of their 2019 schedule. The one-day, 18-hole City 6 tournament features five of Philadelphia's six Division I programs and takes place at the 6,876-yard, Par-70 Huntingdon Valley Country Club.
Previewing the Owls
> Sophomore Conor McGrath leads the Owls with a 73.07 stroke average and has posted a team-high three rounds in the 60s.
> Junior Dawson Anders, the team captain, is next for the Owls, averaging 73.93 strokes per round. He has led the team in two of the five tournaments this season, including the most recent event, The Intercollegiate.
> Senior Liam McGrath, who led the Owls and tied for 13th at the Phoenix Invitational with a five under 208, is averaging 74.53 strokes per round. McGrath tied for second with the lowest below par (-6) score in Temple history with his final round of 65 at Phoenix.
> Freshmen Graham Chase (74.87) and Danny Nguyen (76.80), who have played all 15 rounds this fall, round out the Temple five while senior Aaron Tobin (77.89) will play as an individual.
The Field
> Temple has won two of the three City 6 tournaments, 2016 and 2018, and finished second to Drexel in 2017.
> Besides Temple, which is serving as the host school this year, the field includes Drexel, La Salle, Saint Joseph's and Villanova.
> First tee time is 10:45 am
