Golf Opens Spring Schedule Monday at Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Coming off a strong fall season that included two team titles, the Temple golf team will look to pick up where it left off when it opens its' spring season at the 14^th Annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Monday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at 6,913-yard, par-72, Wexford Plantation Course with a shotgun start commencing at 8:15 am.

Previewing the Owls

Seniors Trey Wren and John Barone led Temple in the fall, helping the Owls win both the Bucknell Invitational and the City 6.
Wren set a school-record with five straight sub-70 rounds while leading the Cherry and White with a 71.33 stroke average.
Barone, who had five rounds in the 60s as well, was equally as impressive, finishing below par in three of the team's six tournaments while compiling a 72.33 stroke average.
Redshirt junior Erik Reisner was consistent throughout the fall, competing in all 15 rounds and turning in a 73.60 stroke average.
Freshman Conor McGrath (74.90 stroke average) and senior Gary McCabe (75.27) round out the Owls starting unit. Senior Sam Soeth, who shared the individual City 6 title with teammate John Barone, and sophomore Dawson Anders will compete as individuals.

The Field

The tournament, hosted by Francis Marion University, features 18 teams.
Besides FMU, the Owls will compete against Akron, Bucknell, Charleston Southern, Cleveland State, Cornell, Dartmouth, Davidson, Dayton, Furman, Gardner-Webb, High Point, Presbyterian, Radford, Temple, USC Aiken, Winthrop and Wofford.
