PHILADELPHIA - Temple Athletics announced that Richie Raspa, who has been on the Temple Athletics staff since 2016, has been promoted to Video Production Manager while Russ Troeller, who spent the last two years with minor league baseball organizations, has been named Live Production Coordinator.  The move enhances the department's digital strategy and production area which is responsible for the live streaming of Temple athletics contests as well as providing video content for the department.

"We are happy to announce a well-deserved promotion for a rising star in the industry, Richie Raspa. He leads by example and has earned this in his two years at Temple. We're also very excited for Russ Troeller to come in and continue to grow and enhance our live production," said Associate Athletics Director for Digital Strategy and Production Morgyn Seigfried. "This will bolster our video production area, which continues to put out high quality live content as well as brand-focused videos for our in-game boards as well as digital platforms."

Raspa, a 2016 graduate of the University of Delaware with a bachelor's degree in mass communication, has moved up quickly in the department.  He started his Temple career as a graduate assistant in 2016-17 before moving into a full-time coordinator's slot the following year. In his new role, Raspa, who earned his master's degree in sports business from Temple in 2018, will oversee a team of three full-time staffers and one graduate assistant.

"I want to thank our athletic director, Dr. Patrick Kraft, and Morgyn Seigfried, for this opportunity," said Raspa.  "In my short time here at Temple I have watched this area grow and evolve and I look forward to continuing our high standard of excellence in video production."

Troeller, who earned his bachelor's degree in television and radio from Ithaca College in 2016, has worked the last two seasons in professional baseball.  After an internship with the Ivy League Digital Network in 2016, he served as a video board assistant with the Pittsburgh Pirates during their spring training in Bradenton, Fla. in 2017 and then throughout the 2017 season with the Bradenton Marauders.  In 2018, the Newburgh, N.Y. native was the video board operator for the Hudson Valley Renegades.

"Working in college athletics has been a dream of mine, and to be able to do it at Temple University is truly exciting," said Troeller.  "I want to thank Morgyn Seigfried and Temple Athletics for this opportunity, and I look forward to producing high level video content for the Owls."
