Men’s Tennis to Host ECU for AAC Matchup Saturday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple men's tennis (8-6, 1-1 AAC) will close out its four-match home stretch on Saturday, March 30 as the team will host ECU at the TU Pavilion. Competition is set to begin at 10 a.m.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 13th year at the helm of the men's program.
> Temple is riding a three-match win streak heading into Saturday's contest. Last time out, Temple swept Lehigh, 7-0, at the TU Pavilion in its first outdoor contest of the season.
> The pairs of Alberto Caceres Casas and Mark Wallner and Uladzimir Dorash and Paolo Cucalon have been impressive in doubles play. Casas and Wallner boast an 11-2 record at first doubles and are ranked No. 58 in the nation. Dorash and Cucalon are 8-3 on the season playing in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
> In singles, Wallner and Cucalon have been superb, owning 11-2 and 9-2 records, respectively.
Scouting ECU
> ECU is led by Shawn Heinchon, who is in his 14th year as head coach of the Pirates.
> The team is 13-4 this season and 1-0 in the AAC. ECU last competed on Saturday, March 23 against Presbyterian College. The Pirates defeated the Blue Hose, 5-2.
> Temple and ECU last met in 2018. Playing without two starters, the Owls fell to the Pirates, 5-2.
