Women’s Tennis Travels to AAC Foe UConn Saturday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's tennis (7-2, 0-0 AAC) is set to compete against UConn (1-7, 0-1 AAC) on Saturday, March 9 in its first American Athletic Conference matchup of the season. Competition is set to begin at 9:25 a.m. at the Magic Lincer Tennis Center.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 11th year at the helm of the women's program.
> Last time out, the Owls continued their perfect home record (4-0) as they defeated Delaware, 5-2, on Thursday, March 7. Temple swept all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The pair of Alice Patch and Oyku Boz improved to 6-2 on the season and Ruoyu Chen and Chunan Xiang moved to 5-2. The team won four of the six singles matches to defeat the Blue Hens. The Owls clinched the match after victories from Kristina Titova at third singles, Yining Tian at sixth singles and Xiang at fourth singles. Chen edged out her Blue Hen opponent in a three-set contest at first singles.
