Millie Howard Named AAC Female Track Athlete of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – After shattering her own school record in the 1500m this past weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic, junior Millie Howard has been named the American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. Howard was also named the Under Armour/OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week for her outstanding race on Saturday.
The North Yorkshire, England native had a phenomenal performance this weekend at Bucknell University to highlight another split weekend for the Owls. She reset her own school record in the 1,500m by almost two seconds, clocking a blazing time of 4:16.81 to take second place in the in the competitive 61-person field of the seeded portion of the event.
Her time currently ranks as the fifth-fastest in the nation, the third best in the region and the fastest run by an AAC student-athlete this season by almost four seconds.
The Owls will be back in action this Friday, April 19 to compete at the two-day Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton University.
