Men’s Tennis Hosts La Salle for Senior Day Thursday, FDU Friday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple men's tennis (11-6, 3-1 AAC) will host La Salle and Fairleigh Dickinson at the TU Pavilion this week to wrap up their regular season home slate. On Thursday, the Owls will honor its two seniors, Alberto Caceres Casas and Uladzimir Dorash, as the team celebrates Senior Day against La Salle at 10 a.m. Temple will face Fairleigh Dickinson at 10 a.m. on Friday for its last home match of the season.
The Owls
> The team is led by head coach Steve Mauro, who is in his 13th year at the helm of the men's program.
> Temple is in the midst of a six-match winning streak. Last time out, the squad defeated No. 47 Tulsa on the road, 4-3. The Owls rallied to earn the doubles point after Tulsa won at second doubles with wins from Casas/Mark Wallner and Dorash/Paolo Cucalon. Strong performances from Dorash, Araoz and Wallner in singles clinched the match for Temple.
> The doubles teams of Casas and Mark Wallner and Dorash and Cucalon have been impressive for Temple. Casas and Wallner hold a 13-3 record at first doubles. Dorash and Cucalon are 10-3 on the season playing in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
> In singles, Wallner, Cucalon and Eric Biscoveanu have been strong, owning 13-2, 9-4 and 9-4 records, respectively.
Scouting La Salle
> La Salle is led by Chad Hamilton, who is in his second year as head coach of the Explorers.
> The team is 4-14 this season and 1-3 in the A10. The Explorers last competed on Saturday, April 6 against St. Bonaventure, defeating the Bonnies 4-3.
