PHILADELPHIA - Adding to an impressive list of athletic and academic achievements from 2018-19, Temple's Millie Howard has been named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Track/Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. Those honorees will be announced in June. Howard was one of 10 selections in District 2, which includes Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, Kentucky, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Howard, a rising senior economics major with a 3.98 GPA, recently represented the Owls at the NCAA East Region Preliminary for a third year in a row. She won gold in the 1,500m at the 2019 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, and set the school record in the event at the Bison Outdoor Classic with a time of 4:16.81.

At the 2019 Penn Relays, Howard was part of the school record-setting DMR relay. She was named the AAC Female Track Athlete of the Week on April 16.

Off the track, Howard is a standout academically as well. She was named to the 2019 Temple Trustee Ten for having one of the 10 highest GPAs among all Temple student-athletes, and has been named to Temple's President's Honor Roll each year of her career.
