Trio of Owls Make the Cut at the Eastern Amateur

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Three Temple golfers made the cut following the conclusion of the second day of competition at the Eastern Amateur Friday.  

Trey Wren, a 2019 graduate, shot a one-under 69 Friday and is tied for seventh overall with a four-under 136.  Rising junior Dawson Anders turned in the best day for the Cherry and White trio, carding a four-under 66 and sits tied for 19th overall with a two-under 138.  Incoming freshman Graham Chase, who shot a one-under 69 Thursday, was three-over for his second round.  He is tied for 4th with a two-over 142.

Anders had seven birdies on the day and now has 10 total for his two rounds.  He is one of only six golfers with double-digit birdies.  Wren matched his first round, making four birdies on Friday.

Redshirt freshman Anthony Barr finished four shots off the cut with an eight-over 148.

Christopher White shot an eight-under 62 Friday and leads the field by three strokes with a 12-under 128.  Eighty-one of the 156 golfers made the cut which was set at four-over.

Round three of four rounds at the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club will commence Saturday.
