Men’s Basketball Announces 2019-20 Non-Conference Schedule

7.2.19 | Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA – The Aaron McKie era officially tips off on Nov. 5 when Temple hosts Drexel in the first of 13 non-conference games on the Owls' 2019-20 schedule announced today.

Besides Drexel, which will be the earliest regular season game in the history of the program, Temple will host Morgan State (Nov. 9), Missouri (Dec. 7), Saint Joseph's (Dec. 10), Rider (Dec. 21) and Villanova (Feb. 21).  It will be the second straight season the Owls welcome an SEC foe to Philadelphia and it will be the Tigers' first-ever game at the Liacouras Center.

Temple will make its first-ever trip to USC (Nov. 22) while also playing Big 5 rivals La Salle (Nov. 16) and Penn (Jan. 25) on the road.  The Owls will also compete in the Orlando Invitational (Nov. 28, 29, Dec. 1) and play Miami (Fla.) in the Inaugural Air Force Reserve Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational at the Barclays Center on Dec. 17.

"This is a very challenging schedule that will help prepare our team for the American Athletic Conference," said McKie. "It features guaranteed games against teams from the ACC, Pac 12 and SEC, with possible games in Orlando against other power conference foes.  Our team is already working hard and preparing for what promises to be an exciting season."

Besides Temple, the field for the 2019 Orlando Invitational includes Davidson, Fairfield, Harvard, Marquette, Maryland, Texas A&M and USC.  The bracket for the three-game event has yet to be set.

Temple is also embarking on a foreign trip this summer and will play games against Bahamian Select Teams on August 3rd, 5th and 6th at Kendall Isaacs Gym at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Complex in Nassau.  It will mark the program's first foreign trip since 2013 and first-ever visit to the Bahamas.

Season tickets can be ordered by calling the Temple Ticket Sales Office at 215-204-TIXX (8499).

The American Athletic Conference dates are expected to be announced in August.
