Match Notes
> Basileo tallied 10 saves against the Demon Deacons, making several big plays to keep the Owls within striking distance.
> 17 Temple players made appearances in the season opener. Four Owls, Mary Byerley, Madison Bee, Gianna Dragoni and Mikaela Maughn, made their debuts in the Cherry and White.
Quotable
> "We matched Wake Forest in terms of work rate, but in terms of executing in front of the goal they out did us," said head coach Seamus O'Connor. "We made some simple mistakes in giving up those back-to-back goals. That's going to be something we work on to make sure it doesn't happen going forward.
> We have a month to work on things and prepare before we head into conference play," said O'Connor. "Our work rate, heart and commitment to play and compete for the full 90 minutes was tremendous. We forced them to play very well to defeat us and we take a lot of pride in that."
