Temple Owl Club has Another Record-Setting Year

9.12.19 | General

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple Owl Club continues to set records raising money for the athletic department and its 500-plus student-athletes.  With the closing of the books on the 2018-19 fiscal year, the Owl Club set a record for overall fundraising for the fifth straight year while also posting a new mark for staff giving and welcomed 500 new donors. Over the last five years, total giving has grown by 88 percent.

"I want to applaud the efforts of Adam Miller and his staff for this record-setting fundraising year," said Director of Athletics Dr. Patrick Kraft. "In just over a month on the job, he was able to energize his staff and close the year in extraordinary fashion.  His strong leadership should continue to enhance our student-athlete experience for years to come."

The fundraising efforts by the Owl Club have allowed Temple Athletics to increase resources for student-athlete welfare in the areas of mental health, strength and conditioning and increased nutrition (snack/fueling stations). The department has made enhancements in the area of competitive performance including recruiting and equipment, and has continued to make facility improvements as well as complete new facilities.

"We are so appreciative of the tremendous support we receive from our alumni, fans and community partners," said Miller.  "Gifts to Temple Athletics and the Owl Club directly impact the lives of our talented student-athletes.  These resources allow them to compete at the highest level both academically and athletically, while preparing them for success in their future careers.  With the generosity of our donors, we will continue to push Temple Athletics to new heights and look forward to another record-breaking year in 2019-20."

The Temple Owl Club – the official support group of Temple Athletics - provides the resources needed to enrich the lives of student-athletes as they strive to achieve excellence in the classroom and at the highest level of competition.
