PHILADELPHIA -- The full 2019-20 Temple women's basketball schedule has been set. The Owls and the American Athletic Conference released the completed league schedule today with Temple's 29-game slate featuring nine nationally televised match-ups.Â
"Every new season is a new opportunity and I think we put together a great schedule that will showcase our program," said Temple head coach Tonya Cardoza. "We're excited to get out there and play some tough competition."
Six of Temple's games will appear on ESPN entities with three on the American Digital Network (ADN). OwlsTV will broadcast the remaining home games. Non-conference match-ups may be added to the national broadcast schedule at a later date.Â
Temple begins conference play early this season, clashing with national power UConn on November 17 on SNY/ESPN3. After playing eight non-conference games, including a trip to the Cancun Classic to take on UNC and Creighton, as well as a home game against South Carolina on December 7, the Owls then resume conference play in January.
The Cherry and White play at Tulsa (Jan. 4) and at Houston (Jan. 8/ESPN3) to open a busy month, before hosting a pair of games on TV. SMU visits McGonigle Hall on January 11 (ADN), while the Owls host USF on January 16 on ESPN3. Two other conference road games wrap up the month, with Temple at Wichita State (Jan. 19) and Cincinnati (Jan. 26/ESPNU).
February home games include Wichita State (Feb. 5), Houston (Feb. 15/ADN), Memphis (Feb. 19), and Tulsa (Feb. 29). The Owls play on the road in February at USF (Feb. 9/ESPNU), ECU (Feb. 22), and UCF (Feb. 26/ESPN3). Temple then wraps up the regular season on the road at Tulane (March 2/ADN).Â
All 12 teams will compete in the 2020 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The Championship is set to return to Mohegan Sun Arena for the seventh-straight year, with dates set for March 6-9, 2020.
