Women's Soccer Hosts Rival Villanova Sunday

PHILADELPHIA—Temple women's soccer (1-2-1, 0-0 AAC) will take on Philly foe Villanova (2-2-1) at the Temple Sports Complex. The rivals will face off on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m.
Owl About Us
> The Cherry and White are led by head coach Seamus O'Connor, who is in his seventh season at the helm of the program.
> Temple is captained by junior Julia Dolan and seniors Morgan Basileo, Emily Keitel and Molly Tobin.
> The Owls are looking to earn their first win at the Temple Sports Complex this season in Sunday's match against Villanova.
> Last time out, Temple battled the Lehigh Mountain Hawks for 110 minutes to a 0-0 draw on Thursday evening in the team's 2019 debut at the TSC. Basileo and the Temple back line came up big for the Owls to earn their first clean sheet of the season. In her first game as a forward in a Temple uniform, DiGenova led the Cherry and White in shots on the day with five, three of which she put on target. Trailing her was sophomore Gabriela Johnson, who took four shots with one on goal. Junior Arryana Daniels got the start at center back and logged her first minutes in the Cherry and White after transferring from Winthrop this fall.

> Tied for the most points (12) on the team last season, Johnson brought her season total to three after scoring her first goal of the season against Sacred Heart. Johnson and Morocco (1g, 1a) are tied at the top of the points list for the Owls.
> Morocco was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for her offensive efforts against UMBC and Sacred Heart last week.
> Basileo has been a mainstay between the posts, notching 30 saves through 380 minutes of play.
> Basileo and the Owls' back line of Keitel, DiGenova, Daniels and Bella Sorrentino have earned one shut out on the season.

> Last time out, the squad took on Delaware on Thursday night. The Wildcats shut out the Blue Hens, 1-0, with forward Sam Rosette scoring the game-winning goal.
> Rosette and forward Chloe O'Neill lead Villanova's offensive production, each with four points on the season. Rosette has tallied two goals and O'Neill has one goal and two assists.
