Davis Earns Second Straight Big 5 Player of the Week Honor

PHILADELPHIA – Junior forward Mia Davis was named the Big 5 Player of the Week for the second week in a row while earning a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll following two strong performances as the Owls went 1-1 in conference action. 

The Big 5 weekly honor marks the third for Davis this season and the fifth for Temple women's basketball. 

Davis averaged 24.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting 55.2% from the field over two games for Temple. In the home win over USF, Davis poured in 25 points as she went 3-for-3 from three-point range and 9-for-14 from the floor. Against Wichita State on Sunday, she registered game highs of 23 points and 15 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season. 

Up next, the Owls host Penn for their final city series matchup on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. The winner of the game will be named Big 5 Co-Champions with Villanova, who secured their share of the title with their victory over Penn on Jan. 15.
