Men’s Basketball Names Captains for 2020-21 Season

PHILADELPHIA – Temple University Men's Basketball head coach Aaron McKie has selected seniors J.P. Moorman II and De'Vondre Perry as the captains for the 2020-21 season.
"J.P. and Dre truly epitomize what it means to be team captains," said McKie. "Both are fine young men who are leaders on and off the court. They know what it means to wear the Cherry and White and my hope is they instill our core values to our young team."
A 6-7 forward, Moorman is in his second season as team captain, serving last year with Quinton Rose and Nate Pierre-Louis. He has the most playing experience among the Owls' returnees, playing in 29 games in 2019-20, starting 26 times. He averaged 5.8 points per game and is the team's leading returning rebounder at 5.1 per game.
Perry, the Owls' top reserve last season, played in 25 games and averaged 6.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. The 6-7 forward shot 48 percent (55-114) from the field while leading the team in three-pint percentage (26-63, .413).
Temple opens its 2020-21 season on December 19 at the Liacouras Center against NJIT (4:30 pm).
