Women's Tennis Looks to Extend Win Streak Against FDU and LIU

PHILADELPHIA - Temple continues its slate of home matches at the Legacy Tennis Center this week, hosting Fairleigh Dickinson (FDU) on Thursday, Feb. 20, and LIU-Brooklyn on Saturday, Feb. 22.
The Owls
> Temple has now won three consecutive matches after beating Rider, Fordham, and UConn.
> They now hold a 3-3 record on the season and a 1-0 record against American Athletic Conference opponents after their victory against UConn.
> The Owls have won five consecutive matches against Fairleigh Dickinson, with the win streak dating back to the 2014-15 season.
> Temple has continued their home dominance, holding a 9-2 record in their last 11 home matches at the Legacy Tennis Center.
Scouting FDU
> The Knights are led by head coach Jeff Brandes, now in his fifth season at the helm of the program.
> FDU has lost its last two matches, including a sweep by Princeton on Feb. 15.
> The Knights are a younger team, with three freshman composing their top four doubles players. FDU's top singles player is sophomore Aleksandra Vorozheikina.
> FDU has won the doubles point just once (in a sweep over Hofstra) in their five matches this season.
Scouting LIU-Brooklyn
> The Sharks are led by head coach Jan Griga, who is in his first season at the helm of the LIU-Brooklyn team.
> The Sharks have opened the season with a 3-2 record, with wins over Hofstra, Siena, and Providence. They fell in their last match, a 5-2 defeat at the hands of NJIT.
> Temple has not played against the Sharks at all in the past decade. They were scheduled to play at the Kinetix Sports Club in 2016, but the match was cancelled.
> The Sharks will first host Eastern Michigan on Friday, Feb. 21, before travelling to Philadelphia to play Temple on Feb. 22.
