Lacrosse Snaps Three-Game Skid With Win Over Chanticleers

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's lacrosse team earned a 12-7 victory over Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon to snap a three-game losing streak. With the win, the Owls improve to 2-3 on the season while the Chanticleers fall to 2-1.
Recapping the Game
> Temple jumped ahead of CCU quickly, going up 3-0 with just over 22 minutes left on the clock.
> Coastal Carolina was able to pull within one, but the Owls responded with two goals of their own.
> The Chanticleers looked to go into the break with a one-goal deficit, but a goal from Abby Overman with 2:39 left on the clock would give Temple a 6-4 halftime lead.
> The Owls opened the second half on fire, once again scoring three goals in the first 10 minutes of the half.
> CCU would score three of the next four, but two final goals from the Owls sealed the victory.

> Bridget Whitaker recorded her second hat trick of the season to lead the team, while Megan Hoffman and Overman both scored twice.
> All four of Whitaker's shots were on target, and her 10 draw controls led both teams.
