Edwards Earns ECAC Coaches Choice Honors

PHILADELPHIA—Gymnastics' Tori Edwards has garnered ECAC Coaches Choice honors following her outstanding performances in Temple's two meets last weekend.
Edwards was a force for the Owls, as her trademark consistency helped propel Temple to one of its most successful weekends of the season. On Friday in the Pink Invite, Edwards earned a 9.725 on both vault and bars and tallied a 9.775 on floor. She continued her excellent performance on Sunday at George Washington's quad meet, as she scored another 9.725 on vault and a 9.7 on floor. The Haymarket, Va. native came up huge for the Cherry and White on bars, posting a career-high 9.875 to earn a share of the event title. Edwards was key in helping the bars lineup tally a 49.3, which is the second-highest score on the event in program history (49.3) and their first score of 49+ on the event since 2004.
Temple will close out its month-long road stretch next weekend, as the team will travel to Maryland for a meet with the Terrapins along with Yale, Penn and William & Mary. Action begins at 1:00 p.m.
