Gymnastics Adds Morris to Incoming Class
2.27.20 | Women's Gymnastics
PHILADELPHIA— Temple women's gymnastics will welcome Lauryn Morris to North Broad in the fall. The addition of Morris brings the Cherry and White's incoming class to eight, as she will join fellow newcomers Mackenzie Aresta, Kayla Deveau, Brooke Donabedian, Lanie Hyman, Mia Rose Thackston, Renee Schugman and Cyrena Whalen.
Lauryn Morris | Wilkes Barre, Pa. | Northeast Gymnastics Academy
Morris, a native of Wilkes Barre, Pa, trains at the Northeast Gymnastics Academy and attends E.L. Meyers High School. As a freshman, she earned second on floor at the Level 10 PA State competition and qualified for regionals. In 2018, she placed fourth on floor and eighth on beam at states and was ninth on beam at regionals. Her success continued in her junior campaign, as Morris earned second place on floor and fourth on vault at the state competition and placed on three events at regionals (fifth- floor, sixth- vault, eighth- beam). She is a four-year honor student at E.L. Meyers and plans on majoring in sport management. Morris chose Temple for the atmosphere and the positive coaching style of the staff.
Lauryn is a performer! She has dynamic tumbling and great leaps on floor. She also has a very powerful vault. We are excited to have her energy and her performance on those two power events.Head Coach Josh Nilson
