Davis Named Fifth All-American in Temple Women’s Basketball History

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's basketball junior Mia Davis became just the fifth Owl's women's basketball player to be named an All-American. The forward earned honorable mention recognition from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, as announced by the organization Monday.
Davis joins Marilyn Stephens (First Team, 1984), Candice Dupree (honorable mention, 2005; Third Team, 2006), Kamesha Hairston (honorable mention, 2007) and Feyonda Fitzgerald (honorable mention, 2017) as the only five players in program history to earn national recognition.
Davis concluded her third season on Broad Street as a Cheryl Miller Award Top 10 Finalist and a First Team All-American Athletic Conference honoree. The Baltimore, Md. native collected 18 double-doubles during her junior campaign, finishing at sixth-most in the nation. Davis averaged 18.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, leading the Owls and ranking second and first, respectively, in the AAC. Davis will enter her senior year sitting at ninth in both career points (1,460) and rebounds (802) in the Temple women's basketball record book.
The 2019-20 Temple women's basketball team ended the season with a 16-15 overall record (7-9 AAC), finishing sixth in the American.
