Owlsports.com caught up with Estrella, as she finishes her final semester at Temple.

In the book of your life, what’s the title of the Temple chapter?   In the book of my life, the title of the Temple chapter would be "Redemption." Transferring here was the best decision I have ever made.

What’s the best part about being a member of the gymnastics team at Temple/what will you miss the most?   The best thing about being on this team is the girls that I got to spend everyday with. These girls have supported me through everything that has gone on at Temple and they are my best friends. I will miss competing with these girls the most.

What is your favorite memory of being a student-athlete at Temple?  My favorite memory will always be winning the conference championship in 2019. We made history that day with the most amazing girls, it was amazing!

If you could give advice to your freshman year self, what would it be?  I would tell my freshman year self to stay confident and believe in yourself no matter what. Things will go wrong and nothing will be perfect, but the best is yet to come!

Where do you see yourself in five years?  In five years I see myself coaching college gymnastics. I want to have the opportunity to give young gymnasts a chance the same way did for me. I see myself being happy, successful and forever grateful to Temple Gymnastics for changing my life for the better!

I would like to thank my team for being the most supportive and amazing teammates I could ask for. I would like to thank Josh and Rachel for giving me a chance last year when I was at my lowest. And finally, I would like to thank my parents and family for joining me on this wild adventure. You have all been there for me no matter the circumstance. I love you all!
