Track & Field Adds Siani Barnes to 2020-21 Roster

PHILADELPHIA – Temple head track and field coach Elvis Forde announced the addition of Siani Barnes to the 2020-2021 roster. The Drexel Hill, Pa. native specializes in the triple jump and is an exciting addition to the jumps group.
Barnes has shown steady improvements throughout her high school career. As a senior, she finished fifth at the indoor PIAA State Championships with a personal best and school record jump of 11.7m, helping her qualify for the esteemed Indoor New Balance Nationals. During her junior campaign, she competed at both the indoor and outdoor PIAA State Championships, placing sixth indoors. In total, Barnes has qualified for the PIAA State Championships four times and has improved her personal best each year.
She will improve quickly with general strength, fitness and a few technical adjustments. The potential is there.Coach Forde
Barnes is also the Treasurer of the National Honors Society and achieved distinguished honor roll. She plans on majoring in biochemistry when she arrives on Broad Street.
