Howard Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

6.25.20 | Women's Track and Field

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University's Millie Howard was named a Third Team Academic All-American Women's Track & Field/Cross Country honoree by CoSIDA, announced by the organization Thursday. This award recognizes student-athletes for their combined excellence in competition and in the classroom.

The recognition for the decorated runner comes just a few weeks after she was named to the 2020 Academic All-District Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team by CoSIDA. Howard won three American championships during her career, racing to victory in the mile at the 2018 (4:46.21) American Indoor Championships, the 1500-meter run (4:21.80) at the 2019 American Outdoor Championships and as part of the DMR (11:26.89) at the 2020 American Indoor Championships. The North Yorkshire, England native earned a bib as an 11th seed at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, earning All-American honors for the first time in her career after she ran both a program and conference record of 4:36.37 in the mile. She has earned a total of nine all-conference honors during her time with the Owls.

Howard received her undergraduate degree from Temple with a 3.98 GPA in economics. She was also honored with the prestigious Elite 90 award for the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Track and Field Championship, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the finals site.
