COLUMBUS, OHIO – Khalif Wyatt and Ramone Moore were a formidable backcourt duo at Temple University nearly a decade ago. In a first-round win over the Stillwater Stars, the two guards came together once again on the 4th of July.

Wyatt led the way with 27 points on 7-for-10 shooting as Brotherly Love overcame an early 10-point deficit and defeated the Stillwater Stars, 87-71.

"We played together in college," said Wyatt. "We were a good 1-2 punch [then]. [Moore] takes pressure off of me."

Moore had 24 points in the win for Brotherly Love, which shot 92% (22-for-24) from the free-throw line. Two other former Owls, Wayne Marshall and Semaj Inge came off the bench with Marshall tying for game-high in rebounds with seven.  He also tallied three points.

Le'Bryan Nash led all scorers with 30 points on 12-of-18 shooting in the losing effort for the Stars, who were outrebounded 38-26.

"[Nash] was great obviously," said Stars coach Bryndon Manzer. "A lot was put on his shoulders, and he delivered."

"It was a tough battle for us," said Manzer. "We hung tough for a long time."

Brotherly Love advances to face Eberlein Drive on Monday, July 6 at 7:00 pm (ESPN).
