Women's Rowing 2020-21 Season Captains Named
9/18/2020
I am thrilled to announce Meghan Arters, Kerianne McGee and Emma Spaeth as our 2020-21 captains. Together, they bring a unique collection of skills, strengths and experiences to the role and I'm looking forward to seeing how they continue to collaborate and develop as leaders. From our very first meeting together this summer, we spoke about how the responsibility of a team leader is to create more leaders and it's clear they view their role with purpose and respect. Meg, Kerianne and Emma are individually and collectively committed to learning, growing and challenging themselves so they can help bring out the best in each other and the team. I'm grateful for their leadership and excited to support them and work alongside them on the adventure that is the 2020-21 season!Head Coach Rebecca Grzybowski

Meghan Arters
Meghan Arters is a 5-0 junior from Garnet Valley, Pa. In 2019, she and the Third Varsity Eight took home a gold medal for Temple at the AAC Championships. Earlier this year, she was awarded a Scholar Athlete Award from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
I have spent the summer getting to know our new teammates virtually and I am incredibly excited to get to know them as athletes and friends in the next few months. I have the privilege to be a part of an organization that has provided me with experiences I never would have had if I had not stopped by their TempleFest table in 2018. I have no doubt that our team will achieve great things this season.Meghan Arters
Kerianne McGee is a 5-9 fifth-year senior from Drexel Hill, Pa. and was a captain for the 2019-20 season. McGee earned bronze in a pair at the Head of the Schuylkill and finished sixth with the varsity eight. McGee also raced in a four and eight at the Navy Day Regatta.

Kerianne McGee
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to continue doing what I love with the people I love. After being presented with the opportunity to compete for a fifth year after my senior season was left unfinished, it was an easy decision to come back. I am beyond excited to have two teammates that I look up to, Meghan and Emma, by my side as we lead Temple Women’s Rowing during the 2020-2021 season.Kerianne McGee

Emma Spaeth
Emma Spaeth is a 5-11 junior from Wynnewood, Pa. Spaeth helped secure a silver medal for the team's second varsity four at the 2019 AAC Championships, the program's highest finish in the event. Additionally, she helped lead the Owls to gold in the second varsity four at the 2019 Dad Vail Regatta.
In a year full of uncertainty, I want to be the most dependable teammate I can be. I am so grateful to be surrounded by such strong and resilient women and for the friendships I have made. I am looking forward to any chance we have to be together and every moment on the water.Emma Spaeth
