Gutowski Earns AAC Offensive Player of the Week Honors, Two Owls Pick Up Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA – After a 2-0 week last week, including a 2-1 win over third-seeded Houston in conference play, Hailey Gutowski earned AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors while Kamryn Stablein and Sumaya Togba picked up Weekly Honor Roll recognition as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Gutowski spearheaded the Owls offensive efforts, netting three goals in the two-game week. The Cinnaminson, N.J., native notched the 74th minute go-ahead goal in the 2-1 victory over LIU, shifting the momentum in favor of the Owls to pull off the win. The standout forward struck again in the match against Houston, netting a pair of goals to lift the Cherry and White to victory over Houston. The standout forward has recorded 13 points on five goals and three assists on the season. This marks Gutowski's first career Offensive Player of the Week selection, and fifth weekly award of her career.
Togba, the freshman out of Odenton, Md., was instrumental in the Owls 2-0 week, recording one goal and one assist for three points. In the road win over LIU, Togba netted the 82nd minute game-winner to lengthen the Owl lead just enough to lift the Cherry and White to a 2-1 victory. The standout forward kept the momentum going in the match against Houston on Sunday, dishing out the first assist of the game to give Temple the early lead. Togba has proved to be a strong addition to the offense this year, clocking 341 minutes in 10 games, including three starts. This award marks Togba's first weekly honor of her career.
Stablein made an appearance in one game this week, recording 10 saves for a .909 save percentage against third-seeded Houston. Stablein kept the game scoreless until the 86th minute, grabbing five saves in the second half to help the Owls retain the lead. The junior goalkeeper now has 71 saves on the season for a .780 save percentage. This marks Stablein's fifth weekly honors since her start at Temple in 2020-21, with three of those coming this season.
