STATEMENT FROM TEMPLE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT JASON WINGARD REGARDING THE ADDITION OF SIX NEW MEMBER SCHOOLS TO THE AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

"Temple University supports the decision to add six new member schools to the American Athletic Conference. As a board member and member of the Audit Committee of the AAC, I believe we engaged in a thoughtful process and are moving forward in the best interest of the conference and our member institutions.

These six new members have demonstrated a commitment to success similar to that of our current members since the conference's inception. Membership in the AAC will provide these schools exposure and operational support to further their accomplishments.

In addition, the new members provide Temple University the opportunity to extend our reach and grow our brand in new markets."
